Ann's Allemande

This piece was written in memory of Ann Meyers, my sister-in-law who died too soon, too abruptly.  She was at home in nature and her older brother found these fitting words by an anonymous Native American author to help us all cope with the loss of a loved one:

Do not stand
at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds
that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight
on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the
morning's hush
I am the soft uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft star that
shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there.
I did not die.
